Purpose
To ensure all new team members can correctly set up Slack, access the core communication channels, and understand how Slack is used inside Leadbreakers.
1. Tools & Access Required
Slack Desktop App (recommended) OR Slack Web Access
Your Leadbreakers Slack invitation link (provided via email)
A stable internet connection
A profile photo (professional, clear)
Your company email address
2. Slack Setup – Step-by-Step
Step 1: Accept Your Invitation
Open the Slack invitation sent to your email.
Click “Join Workspace”.
Set your name, password, and profile photo.
You are now inside the Leadbreakers Slack workspace.
Step 2: Install the Slack Desktop App
(Optional but strongly recommended)
Go to: https://slack.com/downloads
Download and install the desktop app.
Log in using the same email and password you created.
Step 3: Set Your Profile
Click your name in the top left.
Select “Edit Profile”.
Add:
Full Name
Role (e.g., “Cold Caller / Appointment Setter”)
Time Zone
Profile Photo
Click Save Changes.
Step 4: Enable Notifications
Go to Preferences → Notifications
Set notifications to All New Messages
Enable:
Desktop notifications
Mobile push notifications
Make sure Do Not Disturb is turned off during work hours.
This ensures you never miss a message.
3. Leadbreakers Slack Channels (Overview & How They’re Used)
Slack is organized around channels. For your role, here are the two you must understand clearly:
#sales
Purpose:
All communication related to outbound activities, cold calling, lead updates, and booked appointments.
You will use this channel for:
Reporting daily call totals
Sharing booked appointments
Asking quick sales questions
Getting clarification on scripts
Updating the status of leads
Call feedback or improvements
Team collaboration with other setters / sales team
Examples of messages you may post:
“Booked a call for Thursday 2pm EST with XYZ Roofing.”
“Completed 180 dials today, 3 appointments booked.”
“Prospect asked about pricing — how should I position this?”
#client-delivery
Purpose:
Updates, questions, and communication related specifically to client accounts, lead flow, performance, and delivery.
You will use this channel for:
Asking questions related to specific client campaigns
Notifying the team if a prospect requests client-specific info
Sharing feedback from roofing/solar contractors
Flagging any lead issues (rare, but important)
Understanding client requirements
Seeing updates from the Leadbreakers operations team
Examples of messages you may post:
“Prospect from Maine Roofing asked if we can deliver in his ZIP — confirming?”
“Got feedback that XYZ Roofing wants exclusive leads only.”
4. Completion Checklist (For the Onboarding Portal)
The new team member should check each when done:
Joined Slack workspace
Installed Slack desktop app
Set profile photo + time zone + role
Enabled notifications
Joined #sales (if applicable)
Joined #client-delivery (if applicable)
Reviewed how each channel is used
Posted first message saying to their respective channel saying hello to everyone!
